On this International Women’s Day, I want to honor the extraordinary women in my life—women who embody strength, perseverance, and boundless love. These women have shaped me, lifted me, and reminded me daily of what true resilience looks like, especially in this season of my life.

To My Mother, Teresa

Mom, you are my rock. Your sacrifices, your unconditional love, and the way you took care of me and my brother—now extending that same care to all your grandkids—have shown me what selflessness looks like. You inspire me every day with your unwavering strength and love.

To My Daughter, Zee

You are fearless. You step out of your comfort zone, you chase your dreams, and you do what needs to be done to build the life you want. Watching you grow fills me with so much pride.

To My Daughter, Tori

Your journey is not an easy one, but you face it with so much courage. You fight your battles, seek the help you need, and still strive toward your dreams. Your strength is immeasurable, and I admire you beyond words.

To My Little Inspiration, Amina

You have taught me patience, joy, and the power of an unbreakable spirit. Autism has never dimmed your light—you shine so brightly, reminding me daily that happiness and fearlessness know no limits.

To My Aunt Joyce

A warrior in every sense of the word, you survived breast cancer with grace and courage while taking care of our grandmother as she battles dementia. You give so much of yourself to others, and your strength is a light in our family.

To My Godmother, Diane

You fought cancer like a true warrior, and now, in remission, you continue to embrace life with so much love and joy. You pour yourself into your family and your grandkids, proving that nothing—not even the hardest battles—can keep you from being the phenomenal woman you are.

To My Best Friend, Alesha

Life has thrown so many challenges your way, yet you continue to rise above every single one of them. Your perseverance, your drive, and your ability to shine through adversity make you a rock star in every sense of the word. Thank you for loving my difficult self through my many seasons, I can't tell you how much that has sustained me.

To Bestie, Annette

You were diagnosed with breast cancer a year after I was, and still, you faced it head-on, never letting it slow you down. Through surgeries, career growth, and new achievements, you continue to soar. Your resilience is nothing short of inspiring. Your love had filled my empty cup on many days. Thank you for being unwavering for 3 years straight. You don't play about Trese!

To My "Yes" Friend, Alicia

You push me to say “yes” to my gifts, to walk in my purpose, and to believe in the work that God has called us to do. Your unwavering belief in me and others is a constant source of inspiration.

To My Prayer Warrior Friend, Karyn

You are an educator who truly sees her students, who understands their needs, and who gives them the tools to thrive. Your passion and dedication to shaping young minds make the world a better place. Thank you for understanding my journey with Amina in a way that most don't. For encouraging me to keep advocating for everything she needs. You make me better!

To Mother Murray

You remind me so much of my grandmother Cleatrice. I truly believe she sent you into my life to give me that deep, unconditional motherly love. Your presence, your wisdom, and your embrace have been such a gift to me.

To My Church Sisters, Kim, and Tracie

Tracie, you are the reason I found a home at Champions Life International Church. Your love for Amina, and your heart for children like her, made me feel safe bringing my family to this space. And Kim, you are my kindred spirit, walking this Christian journey with me in our seasoned years—real, raw, and determined to keep pushing forward.

To My Cousin, Twanya

Twanya, your dedication to the Word and your desire to include me in your daily Bible studies have been such a blessing in my life. You encourage me to dive deeper into my faith every single day. I love and appreciate your spiritual guidance, your friendship, and the unwavering love you pour into me.

To Super Saved Friend Hannah

Hannah, you supported me in ways I will never forget during my breast cancer journey. You and your family wrapped me in love and prayers, even extending that support through your church family. Though life brought a minor hiccup in our friendship, we have come back stronger than ever, and I cherish that deeply.

To My Befrister Nikki (Nikita)

You have always been a constant in my life, even through the years when we were apart. You are my place of comfort, my place of home. Thank you for allowing me back into this space to rebuild our sisterhood in a way that is even more meaningful, more seasoned, and more powerful than before.

To My Fashionable & Gifted Friend, Adrienne

Thank you for being my pharmacist, always answering my questions as I navigated breast cancer and everything that has come with it for me and my kids. But beyond that, you are a friend who encourages me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things—even if I haven't quite committed to the small plate yet!

To The Ivory To My Ebony, Rachel

Rachel, no matter the distance, your love and support never waver. You always show up when I need you most, standing ten toes down for me, being my strength when I have none left. Your unwavering loyalty and presence mean the world to me, and I am so grateful for you.

To My Acts 242 Friends, Porshia and Felicia

You both have shown me that new friendships, ones that meet you where you are in life now, are a beautiful and necessary gift. I am so grateful for our sisterhood, and I can't wait for all the adventures ahead.

To The Twins, Jet & Jot – Your love is quiet but constant, a steady presence that I cherish. Even though we don’t talk every day, you always check on your auntie, reminding me that no matter what, I am never alone. Your strength as mothers, sisters, and friends inspires me.

To All Women Everywhere

Today, we celebrate women in all their forms—mothers, daughters, fighters, healers, educators, and dreamers. We celebrate the battles won, the love given, and the unwavering strength that defines us. To every woman reading this: You are seen, you are valued, and you are unstoppable.

Happy International Women’s Day!

Keep shining. Keep inspiring. Keep being unapologetic.
